What wounds do the scars

Most scratches, abrasions and shallow superficial wounds in children are healed themselves and leave no residue. The most important thing is to treat the damage in time with hydrogen peroxide or chlorhexidine to prevent infection. In the home medicine cabinet, these disinfectants must be present.

If the wound is deep, with torn edges, then a scar may remain in its place. It is easier to prevent scars than to get rid of them, therefore, immediately after the injury, you must take the necessary measures.

How to remove scars

If the child received a deep wound, it must be pulled off in the first minutes after the incident using a special steri-strip. This tool is used as a less aggressive alternative to seams. Periodically, the patch is moistened so that the wound is healed evenly.

If time is lost and the child has a scar at the site of the injury, you can get rid of him in the following ways:

  1. Local medicines: ointments, creams, gels containing extracts of plants and vitamin E. These remedies cope in cases where the child received minor injuries and this happened recently. Before use, it is recommended to test the regenerating preparation by spreading a small area of skin near the elbow. If no allergic reactions have followed, then the tool can be used.
  2. Surgical intervention. It will have to be resorted to if a rough scar with torn contours has formed.
  3. Laser polishing. This is the removal of the upper layer of the skin with a laser.
  4. Dermabrasion. Represents the removal of the convex surface of scars using special equipment. This procedure is not suitable for children under 14 years of age.

All remedies against scars and scars are effective for eight weeks after their formation. Before any procedures, the child should be shown to a specialist doctor who will choose the best option for getting rid of the memorable mark.

We had scarms from chickenpox. They smeared Dermatik, and then a kelo-coat. Not so noticeable. I have a daughter. For her face, I am especially worried. There were consultations in a laser clinic. There, they assure that small scars by themselves pass to adolescence. So don’t panic. Everything is fixable. medicine does not stand still. The main thing is not to self-medicate, but to consult a doctor on time.

As a mother of two children, I have repeatedly encountered the problem of scars. This is a very delicate topic, as it is about our children. First of all, of course, disinfect. It is advisable to evaluate what kind of scar your child has. They are of three types: keloid, atrophic and hypertrophic. Atrophic scars are shallow and heal quickly, hypertrophic scars are convex and heal more slowly, depending on the depth, but keloid (elevated) with a bluish tubercle should be noted. It is even better to show the child to a specialist so that no doubt remains.
