We introduce soups on meat broth into the child’s diet

when a child can be given soup in meat brothAlready much has been said about whether or not an adult should eat such a dish as soup every day. There are both opponents and supporters of this approach. However, neither of them deny the exceptional importance of soups in the diet of a child, because:

  • this dish contains healthy fiber in the form of boiled vegetables, which stimulates digestion;
  • a broth saturated with vitamins and microelements is well absorbed by the body.

Whereinsoup cooked precisely on meat broth can only be given to a child when he is at least 1 year old. And even then, the dish will have to be cooked using dietary meat (turkey, rabbit), and not pork and beef.

Meet the Mashed Soup

We recommend that you read the publication: First feeding of the baby (rules and tips)

This dish is not just a liquid with floating vegetable slices, but such a combination of certain vegetables that “share” their beneficial substances with water during cooking and give the dish a whole unique taste and aroma. Already on the basis of this distinguishing feature, a soup can be given to a child when he is well acquainted with individual mashed potatoes introduced in turn, in particular from cauliflower, zucchini, and potato. Vegetable mashed potatoes are usually introduced into the baby’s menu by breastfeeding with 5- 6 months. And if the baby is on the mixture, then you can introduce vegetable puree a month earlier.

We read all about vegetable feeding: when to introduce vegetable complementary foods (as a mashed potato)

Giving soup as a semi-liquid pureed substance from several vegetables (for example, from potatoes, carrots and onions) is possible for a child who is already familiar with the taste of its individual components, from 7 months. It can be said that at this age the soup will be a rather conventional concept, but in fact it will be several vegetables cooked together and then milled in mashed potatoes.

Vegetable soup with meat

It is recommended to introduce meat into the baby’s diet from 7-8 months. You do not have to rush to introduce this product until this age, but at the same time, you should not neglect meat at the age of 8-9 months, because the growing body really needs proteins and B vitamins, as well as valuable minerals contained in meat. Accordingly, determining the time when the child is given soup with meat, you can focus on the age of 8-9 months. We are, of course, talking about a dish cooked on vegetables. The meat is boiled separately and then added to the soup.

We read all about meat feeding: when to introduce meat complementary foods (as a mashed potato)

At the same time, children are usually already have some teeth in your mouth, so the finished dish can not be mashed, but simply knead well with a fork. Then, little by little, you can give soups with some cereals, for example, buckwheat. For a child about a year, it is quite possible to use cereals such as rice, millet, barley groats.

An example of such a soup is the following recipe:

Vegetables (potatoes, carrots, onions, sometimes cauliflower or zucchini) are boiled until tender along with a small amount of buckwheat. Meat is separately boiled (chicken, turkey, rabbit). The fat contained in such meat is fusible, and the meat itself contains important polyunsaturated fatty acids, iron and a large amount of B vitamins, which serve to prevent anemia. It is believed that at 9 months the child already needs about 50-60 g of meat per day.

Everything is mixed with a blender (or vegetables are kneading with a fork, and the meat is mashed separately). Then you can add just a little vegetable oil in the soup puree. After this, you need to let it cool and start feeding. Remember that although this dish is called “hot,” in fact it should not be either excessively hot or too cold.

Meat broth vegetable soup

For children up to a year, meat broth is not recommended for food for the following reasons:

  • all harmful substances found in meat are boiled into the broth;
  • broths due to purine bases have high extractivity, cause blood flow (hyperemia) to the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract and irritate them, stimulate the production of gastric juice;
  • due to hyperemia, the permeability of the mucous membrane of the digestive tract for allergens increases.

It is better to start giving soups on meat broth no earlier than a year. Even then, the first meat broth is drained, and the dish itself is cooked on the second broth. Soups on the first meat broth will be difficult for the baby’s digestive system. After boiling water, where the meat is boiled, you just need to pour it and pour a new portion of water into the pan, wait for it to boil, remove the foam and boil the meat in it for about 40 minutes. After that, you can send vegetables cut into small pieces, which will cook until cooked another half hour. It is not necessary to salt the dish excessively, but a small pinch of salt can still be thrown into it.

If the child is not too fond of the soup, then the mother needs to make sure that there are not too many vegetables with a sharp taste (for example, with onions) or with a taste that is unpleasant for the child (this can be, for example, cauliflower), which is convenient for the child swallow it (i.e. the dish is neither too thin nor too thick). If the measures taken do not help much, do not offer the baby some time (at least a few days), and then try to feed the crumbs with another combination of vegetables or cereals.

    And for my daughter I just made vegetable puree with meat, beef or turkey, and grind it in a blender, diluting it with boiled water. It turned out like a soup puree only fuss less.

    I started feeding my son with five months. The meat introduced at seven.And the broths began to be given only after a year, since I believe that the broth is heavy food for the emerging organism. Started with vegetable soups on turkey and veal. Now we are a year and 8, still the king is soup on veal or chicken (I remove the skin).

    I believe that soups are simply necessary for both an adult and especially a child ... After all, a growing body needs vitamins and nutrients so much. contained in vegetable and meat soups. We began to introduce vegetable puree into the child’s diet somewhere in half a year, and vegetable soup with meat somewhere in 9-10 months. Naturally, the diet product was mainly chicken and rabbit.
