From 55 to 100 and vice versa: my postpartum weight loss story

I began to lead a quiet life in the “eat, sleep, eat” mode. Of course, I did not forget about the walks, I spent a lot of time on the street. Walked through the parks or just was on the playground with young mothers, listening to different stories and tips. But this did not affect my appetites, I continued to eat a lot throughout my pregnancy. She believed that I was doing everything right, despite the doctor’s warnings about the need to control weight, turning a blind eye to the fact that at the 5th month of pregnancy I didn’t fit into more than one thing from my usual wardrobe and the arrow on the scales showed 90 kg with height 165 cm and age 22 ...

It is believed that 18 to 20 years is the best age for a girl. At this stage, much can be achieved in life. I managed to create a wonderful foundation: I already managed to get a specialty, find a permanent place for an interesting and well-paid job. In addition, there was a beloved man nearby, and I was already proud of my status as a wife.

It always seemed to me that life should go on as it should, according to a certain plan. And I worked out my algorithm, I was able to do everything right in steps. The period of study passed, then she began to build her career. At the same time, I did not forget about my personal life, about my family. When two years of a happy life with a beloved man passed, my husband and I decided: it is time to have a baby.

Fortunately, I quickly became pregnant. Pregnancy was good enough. My beloved husband felt that it was necessary to leave work earlier. Therefore, I did so, although the gestational age was still relatively short. My husband is absolutely convinced that various factors have a significant impact on the proper development of the baby, on the good course of pregnancy. Of great importance here is a calm environment, a homely atmosphere, a sense of confidence and harmony with oneself. Of course, a good balanced diet, outdoor walks and a healthy lifestyle are a serious factor. We tried to do everything right, so that in the end a truly healthy, strong child could be born.

With health, I always had everything in perfect order (and with the scales, by the way, too). I monitored the general condition of the body, weight. Always remained a fit, athletic girl with a slim figure. However, due to pregnancy, the corresponding hormonal changes in the body still began. In addition, I developed a huge appetite. It seemed to me that I really didn’t need to limit myself in food, because I do not want to eat myself, but my child :). In the end, all this played a cruel joke with me, because violation of the diet and a sharp decrease in activity are bearing fruit.

So, my life has moved into a new unusual format.I began to lead a very measured way of life, I devoted a lot of time to food and sleep. Almost all my free time I spent on rest, walks, sleep and gastronomic pleasures (life in the “eat, sleep, eat” mode). True, in the fresh air I still spent a lot of time. Regularly walked in the parks, went to the playgrounds. There, one could also spend time on useful communication with young mothers who told a lot of interesting things and gave advice. But this did not affect my appetites, I continued to eat a lot throughout my pregnancy.

Unfortunately, I ignored the warnings of the doctor, although he said that weight must be controlled. In the end, I was 22 years old, was in my fifth month of pregnancy, and the weight had already reached 90 kilograms. It is worth saying that my height is only 165 cm.

Childbirth in obesity

Finally, I waited for the very moment when I was about to see my baby soon. At the same time, my weight indicator was already impressive. Yes, the scales confirmed that now I weigh 120 kilograms. Specialists were amazed, as the weight was already clearly exceeded. Doctors asked how such a moment could be missed in a consultation. True, I myself underestimated my weight indicators when I came to the antenatal clinic. And it didn’t bother me at all, since I believed that the most important thing was to eat well, give birth to a strong and healthy child.

Doctors in shock: “How so?”, “Where they looked at the consultation!” and other exclamations from the specialists of the maternity hospital №5. And for me, everything is simple: I was sure that I did everything correctly and told doctors about the numbers during pregnancy, much less than the real result. I reasoned like this: "I'm a mother, I better know what is good and what is bad for me and my baby."

Despite the apparent obesity, the delivery nevertheless went well, for which I must say thanks to the excellent staff of the hospital. The extract was also wonderful: relatives came, husband, there were flowers and joy. It seems that everything went perfectly, like everyone else. At the same time, in official papers, I saw a warning note that my birth took place against the background of obesity of the first stage. But this did not upset me at all, since everything was concentrated on the child. And again, I just hoped that then everything by itself would return to its previous form, but for now there was nothing to worry about. Of course, I did not give up my habit of eating a lot, without restricting myself to anything, also during breastfeeding.

Point of no return

At some point, I realized that everything had already become very bad. There was once a case that a woman, about 10 years older than me, simply allowed herself an insult, emphasizing my unattractiveness.

And I suddenly looked at myself as if from the side. It turned out that I already look 10 years older than I really am. Yes, I appreciated my appearance and came to the conclusion that it became simply repulsive. Hands became full, pouting and wrinkled, like a sumo wrestler. The second chin appeared sharply. Of course, the legs and stomach also significantly transformed. And all this looked pretty ugly. It was just disgusting to see your reflection in the mirror. I could not understand how I waved my hand so hard at myself that I entered the weight of 100 kilograms, although before that I weighed only 55.

And at that very moment a peculiar reference point was already set. I firmly decided to lose weight. My husband is a professional bodybuilder, works as a trainer. Of course, he managed to give me invaluable help. Together we drew up a detailed program for further training, as well as determined the most balanced diet. And now, a progressive movement towards my main goal has begun: to return to my previous athletic form, again weigh 55 kilograms.

In general, I really liked that my husband was very understanding about all the changes in my figure related to pregnancy, childbirth, and a downed diet. On the other hand, it is likely that if he did draw my attention to this, I would start to look after myself earlier. But in any case, the brain still turned on. And I seriously got down to business to improve myself. It is worth noting that I did not use any miraculous preparations, green coffee and teas, which are now very widely advertised everywhere. I completely focused on my routine, on the training schedule and on the right, fully balanced menu.

I did not take any treasured tablets, pills, teas, green coffee and other advertised rubbish. I do not want to say anything bad about these drugs - maybe they help, but, alas, not in my case.

What helped to lose weight

It is important to note the key factors that really determine weight loss. First of all, these are good workouts with appropriate physical activity and proper balanced nutrition. By the way, I myself was still embarrassed to go to the gym, so my classes were held at home. But in my program of proper nutrition, the basis was a special protein-fiber diet. The food was divided into five meals, with 2 snacks, and 3 stable main meals.

Remember that all experts pay special attention to the drinking regimen. It is imperative that you drink enough fluids every day. It should be high-quality drinking water, without carbonation, without all kinds of additives. I drank 2 liters of water per day.

Unfortunately, in order to get in good shape, and then maintain a figure in such a sporty, fit state, it is necessary to constantly refuse the most delicious dishes. The most delicious of the diet instantly leaves: it is spicy and fried, salty with smoked, and also sweet with flour. What can you eat?

The following dishes and products were constantly present in my diet:

  • Boiled chicken breast. It is prepared very simply. It is necessary to bring it to a boil, then drain the first water, pour new and continue to boil;
  • Vegetables. They should be high in fiber. They can be baked, as well as boiled, steamed. Fried is excluded;
  • Buckwheat porridge is also very useful, it becomes a good dish for weight loss;
  • Low-fat varieties of fish are also recommended to be included in the menu;
  • I cooked pasta once a week. Moreover, they must be made from durum wheat.

The entire menu consisted of steamed, baked or boiled dishes. The most difficult were the first 3 weeks, as the body gets used to the new diet and is still trying to fight your persistence.

And it was also very difficult to cook separately for myself, since I had to cook for three family members: for my husband, daughter and myself - everything was different. The first month I ate separately from everyone. It was very difficult to watch everyone eat delicious food, and you have a white piece of chicken and buckwheat with cucumbers in your plate. I prepared dishes for my husband in a mask, as the aromas of spices and fried meat drove crazy. In order to avoid difficulties in cooking and minimize the time spent, I prepared very seriously and created an almost cookbook with recipes for every day for myself, my beloved. A multicooker was also purchased, which greatly facilitated life. After the first month, I began to dilute my diet, gradually adding other products, and also began to improvise with spices and herbs to improve taste.

Sport

I trained at home according to a specially prescribed program: money was spent on the purchase of everything necessary: ​​dumbbells, an elastic band for training, a hula-hoop and special sports thermal underwear. They took a lot of time and energy. Three times a week for 1.5 hours I puffed over the transformation of such a geometric figure as a “ball” into a beautiful female body.Training was not easy, the press did not end at the expense of 10, but to a state of burning muscles of the abdomen. Perhaps my training system will come in handy for someone, so I’ll briefly talk about my training program:

  1. Warm up. I usually played a hula hoop for 20 minutes. Or running on the spot for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Bleeding the press. Two types: lower and upper, in 3 sets.
  3. Squats with weight: 30 times in 3 sets.
  4. Exercises with elastic to strengthen the internal muscles of the arms and legs: 30 times in 3 sets.

The program changed every two weeks, as the body gets used to the load and ceases to perceive the exercises. To say that it was difficult is to say nothing. I sobbed in the bathroom and hated myself for my weakness and constant thoughts to give up everything and return to my former life, and my hands reached for the fridge for sweets ... But when I bought jeans of size 46, I realized that there was no turning back - I had to go go on and fight for your beauty. Weight gain occurred quickly, in just 9 months, but it went away exhaustingly long.

The process of losing weight lasted more than 4 years! The beginning of my path to excellence began in 2011, and ended in 2015. First, I very quickly began to throw off the hated kilos and lose in volume. But then the weight got up and did not move: I did not lose weight and did not gain. Despair came, because the goal was not achieved, and the weight did not want to go anywhere! Then my husband helped me a lot - many thanks to him for the long lectures on the structure of the body and the process of losing weight. It was thanks to his support and knowledge that I overcame all the difficulties and difficulties, without ever breaking into either nutrition or training. My path did not end there: now proper nutrition and training is the principle of life. Yes, I sometimes allow myself to relax and eat a piece of cake or fried meat, but PP will always remain the basis of my diet.

The result that I am proud of!

And in the yard in 2018, I am 29 years old, this year my beautiful daughter is in first grade and my weight is 55 kg. I like myself, looking in the mirror, they compliment me, I buy things of size 42 and I know for sure that nothing is impossible - the main thing is to believe in yourself and find the right path to your goal.

I will definitely give birth to a second baby, and maybe even a third, I don’t know yet. But I am sure that “Childbirth in the background of stage 1 obesity” is no longer scary for me. As you know, they don’t step on the same rake!

Girls, women, mothers, love yourself, value yourself, look after yourself. And, most importantly, never, NEVER say that it is impossible to lose weight - perhaps if you really want to!

    And I did not sit on any diets after giving birth! Gained as much as 12 kg extra. And yet I came to the conclusion that the blood type nutrition and, of course, an active lifestyle help me best.Often did exercises with a daughter in her arms. Basically it was a bar and a squat. And as she liked her daughter, she did not understand that mom playing with her, thus losing weight.

As a result, it turns out that every day 2.5 hours I actively spent my time. In winter, I lost 1 kg every week until I reached my stable good weight (55 kg).
