How quickly I lost weight after giving birth without much effort

Hi girls, my name is Catherine! I decided to share a personal story about how much I gained after childbirth, but quickly regained weight without exhausting diets, workouts, and "miracle drugs."

Before pregnancy and childbirth, she steadily held 59 kg (height 173 cm). After giving birth, I recovered not by the prescribed 10, but by as much as 20 kg.

Extra pounds appeared in stages. After the baby’s birth, the scales showed 72 (+13 kg) for some time - she thought that “it’s okay, I’ll return to at least 63 during feeding,” because fuss was planned to measure. There it was. My baby is quiet, calm: eats and sleeps, sleeps and eats - there wasn’t much trouble. When I was breastfeeding (and because of the GV I always wanted to chew something), I constantly went around the house and chewed. It happened that I just ate soup and tea with a sausage sandwich, and after 10 minutes I wanted to eat again: I walked and ate another cupcake or a piece of chocolate. My son is not allergic, so I did not deny myself a sweetie. Moved a little, and spent free time on the couch.

When she got on the scales 3 months after giving birth, she was surprised to find + 7 kg (79 kg / 173 cm). And now, walks with a stroller were difficult: they rolled out into the park, there was no strength and desire to walk, so I sat down on a bench with a book. In my pocket there were always sweets, crackers, seeds or dryers in reserve.

After giving birth, they continued to communicate with the girls from the ward with whom they were lying in the hospital. One of the mothers returned to their original weight after 4 months. It became envious, kindly, that she began to ask what and how. “It is somehow itself,” I received that answer. That’s why she’s on her own, but I don’t succeed? What's wrong? I thought, analyzed, searched for the reasons and found the answers.

3 reasons why I can’t lose weight

I identified 3 factors that prevent weight loss without grueling workouts (for which young mothers do not have the strength, time, or desire).

  1. The most terrible point that you can’t get rid of, but it’s incredibly difficult to rebuild - nutrition. As a lover of baking, she could not live a day without a bun. She tried to drown out the aggravated feeling of hunger with frequent snacks.
  2. Little by little turned into a seal - very little movement: walked a little, often sat on the street, and lay at home. She consumed calories in tons, and without consumption, they settled in the body in the form of fat deposits.
  3. Case in the environment: family and friends arranged my appearance or were silent from politeness. On the one hand, it’s great that they didn’t poke extra pounds in the face (it could break into all sorts of expensive super-remedies for weight loss or go on some kind of terrible diet for the body, harming both itself and the baby). The husband did not see the problem, they say, everyone is gaining after childbirth. At first I didn’t see the problem, and I even began to get used to things several sizes larger than prenatal ones. This is the flip side of the coin: “Could they not have hinted that it was time to do something about this ?!”

And yet, the main incentive was the banal “And why am I worse than the other girls who managed to regain shape after childbirth?” Familiar young mothers briskly began to put themselves in order, and I stood out against their background with my dimensions. When the child was 4.5 months old, I decided to take care of myself.

What did I do to lose weight

Having defined the “root of evil”, I worked on the errors for each item.

Nutrition

The new diet was as follows:

  • Chicken and beef soups with vegetables. If possible, make broths from domestic chicken, so more rich. Home-made meat made the soups more satisfying, but I still didn’t get enough - I had to eat steam buckwheat, rice, millet or wheat porridge with the addition of butter;
  • It was impossible to exclude vegetables that did not give a feeling of satiety from the menu because of the benefits for the child. I grinded the boiled vegetables to a puree state, added a piece of butter, yolk and shared with Kiryusha. If she ate herself, she did not add the yolk, but ate a boiled egg;
  • Mashed potatoes in water or boiled milk (be sure to boil if breastfeeding);
  • I ate a little cottage cheese and cheese every day. It perfectly satisfies hunger as an independent dish or as an additive to one of the cereals;
  • From meat she made pork and beef cutlets, boiled beef, later added lean pork to the diet;
  • Sweet limited to dryers, a little chocolate and homemade oatmeal cookies without margarine;
  • At first I drank not very brewed tea without sugar, later added freshly ground coffee (small doses in the morning).

A little tip: The diary helped me a lot to eliminate nutrition problems: I planned my diet, wrote everything down there that I cook or want to cook. There were recipes and lists of products, since I took it to the store.

Activity

She coped with a passive lifestyle through walks. Leaving home, she forced herself to forget about the bookstore and walked for 1.5-2 hours. I did not carry a pedometer with me, but I suspect that the mileage was decent, also with a load in the form of a stroller. The first time was not easy: she was terribly tired, her legs were humming with no habit, and upon returning home she was hungry for impossibility. Saved pre-cooked vegetable soups on the broth.

Eliminated any snacks during the walk!

Over time, the child began to crawl, and I began to have more movements: just have time to catch up (but you worry, no matter how you hit it, you don’t drag any nasty things into your mouth, so you jump up for every reason).

The attitude of loved ones

The problem resolved by itself: when I announced my venture, friends, relatives, and, first of all, my husband supported the venture and willingly helped in observing the diet.

I remind you that I began to implement the idea when the child was 4.5 months old, and I, with a height of 173 cm, weighed 79 kilos.

  • In the first 30 days it took 5 kg (fortunately there was no limit);
  • The second month he took 4 kg;
  • On the third, despite all attempts, the weight remained unchanged (70 kg / 173 cm);
  • Over the next 30 days, it was possible to improve the result by another 2 kilograms, then by 5;
  • At the time when Kiryusha was 9 months old, I weighed 63 kg.

I was not going to stop there, so I continued to carry out the usual “program”, only activities were added: my son grew up, began to crawl, then walk and run, and it became harder to lift him 🙂

Now the child is 1.5 years old, I weigh 61 kg (fluctuations + - 2 kilos). When the weight settled down, she returned to ordinary food, without significant restrictions. The only thing I don’t use is the standard harmfulness, which all nutritionists advise to exclude: such as sausages, chips, cola, fat store cakes.

It may seem to someone that I lost weight not so fast, but I think that a slender mother and a 9-month-old baby are not so common. Immediately after birth, a few or two lose weight in a month or two, and for the most part, those who did not gain anything at all. And do not forget that the method does not involve super-loads - a minimum of effort that works 100%.

    In addition to long walks with the child, I do yoga. In the evenings I drink kefir. Sweet to a minimum. Fried food was replaced by stew and steamed. She returned to her original weight after 7 months.

    I also kept a food diary, only it was in my phone. I also reviewed my diet. For example, I replaced all salad dressings with yogurt, soups from chicken broth, and not from pork ate, replaced sweet with bread. And always ate little by little. So she lost 7 kg in 3 months.

    I had special apps on the iPhone that monitored my diet and water balance. A very convenient thing. Sport is good, but without proper nutrition it is not very effective. I came to my normal weight after about 4 months. All thanks to an integrated approach.
