Every caring mother and a skilled housewife should know several rules for caring for this type of fabric.
1. Training
Of particular interest to you should be a mark on the label. Inscription “Hand Wash Only” means: the product is made of natural materials that cannot be machine washed; it has a pile or glued decorations, which often become unusable when subjected to mechanical stress.
2. Powder selection
Textiles directly relate to the delicate skin of a child, so you should choose a quality detergent. For manual rinsing, you can use the usual baby shampoo or soap shavings. If the water is too hard, add a teaspoon of baking soda to it. For machine wash, choose a non-bleaching powder and neutral emollients, and it is best to refrain from rinsing agents and conditioners to reduce the risk of allergies to chemical components.
3. Handwash
Most parents are sure that baby clothes need to be washed only by hand and exclusively with laundry soap. If you prefer the same method, soak the pants and dresses in pre-warm or cool water for 20 minutes.
The temperature for such a delicate fabric is very important, since soaking in hot water can lead to deformation of the fabric: it simply sits or falls off. An important nuance: do not rub the blouse, but gently squeeze and unclench it with your hands, and do it only in length. To preserve knitted items, rinse them in water at the same temperature at which you washed.
4. Washing machine application
You can wash dense textiles in the automatic machine. Almost every one of them has a mode for gentle cleaning at temperatures not exceeding 40 degrees. Turn things inside out, place them in special bags or ordinary pillowcases. Rinse a few times and then wring out at the minimum number of revolutions.
5. Drying
Be sure to remember that knitwear must not be twisted. When the excess water drains into the sink, lay the sweater on a clean sheet and gently twist it along with the washed item. As soon as you get rid of excess moisture, put the jacket on a towel and leave to dry in a straightened state. By the way, our grandmothers at one time put the laundry in the so-called string bag and placed it over the bathroom.
6. Spool Removal
Unfortunately, this is an inevitable defect in knitted suits that occurs even with the most gentle care. You can restore the beauty of the fabric with a simple razor. Try to touch with light movements so as not to damage the structure of the canvas.
If you follow our simple recommendations, then children's knitwear will retain a wonderful appearance and bright colors for a long time and will delight you and your offspring with softness and warmth.
