Children's clothing, especially outerwear, very quickly loses its original appearance. What accuracy can we talk about when a child runs, jumps and crawls for days on end? It’s good if mom has a stock of thermal stickers in stock, because it is simply impossible to predict when a child will tear her favorite jeans or shirt.

The range of modern thermal stickers (or decals) is huge. Cars, planes, helicopters, flowers, bears, heroes of your favorite cartoons - each child will be able to choose a sticker that he will like.

And there are also personalized thermal stickers - labels for children's things. They are especially popular with parents whose children go to kindergarten - clothes with such marks will not be lost. Nominal thermal stickers can be simple (a circle or a rectangle with the name and surname of the child, as well as the group number in the kindergarten) and with decor.

Thermal stickers can be paper or textile. But the principle of operation is the same: on the back side of each application there is an adhesive layer, which allows you to attach it to clothes with an iron. By the way, that's why the thermal stickers got their name: in Greek, “thermo” means “heat”.

Decals are often sold without instructions, and not everyone knows how to attach them to clothes. We have prepared a small instruction - especially for those who do not know how to properly stick thermal stickers without damaging the fabric.

Step 1

Prepare an ironing board or cover the table with an even, dense cloth. Turn on the iron to the maximum, having previously turned off the steaming mode on it, and wait a few minutes for it to warm up. During this time, you can "try on" thermal sticker to its future "place of residence".

Step 2

Iron the place where you want to stick the sticker. This is necessary in order to provide a more reliable bonding. Apply thermal sticker to clothing with the adhesive layer down. In order not to spoil the clothes, cover the application with a sheet of baking paper or tracing paper.

Step 3

Press the iron on the thermal sticker and hold it for 30-40 seconds. Then raise and lower the seconds again by 10. Now you can turn the thing on the wrong side and iron it well at the place of attachment of the sticker.

Step 4

Wait for the thermal sticker to cool (about 10-15 seconds), and then carefully remove the protective paper layer. Done!

how to glue thermal stickers on clothes

On a note

  1. Some fabrics (such as raincoat fabric and synthetics) cannot tolerate high temperatures. Before gluing the thermal sticker, find an inconspicuous place on the clothes and check how the fabric will behave under the influence of a hot iron.
  2. If the picture size is larger than the sole of the iron, then glue the decal in parts: first one part, then another. And don't forget the little details.
  3. Do not discard the protective paper after completion of work - it can be used for the following labels.
