Children really like role-playing games. Girls prefer to play mother-daughter, seller-buyer, patient-doctor, boys prefer policemen, aliens, drivers. Such games help the child to comprehend the world around him, to cope with his fears and feelings, satisfy the need for communication, and contribute to the development of speech, imagination and artistry. You can diversify the kid’s leisure by organizing a puppet theater at home.
We select the "actors" of the troupe
As the heroes of the play, you can use the baby’s existing toys or purchase new ones. Some parents make their own theater puppets, which are of several types:
- puppets - dolls that are driven by threads attached to their limbs;
- cane - dolls controlled with the cane on which they are worn;
- parquet - large-sized dolls that move around the stage or floor with the help of a puppeteer;
- gloves - dolls that are worn on the arm like a glove. Another name for such a doll is “parsley”;
- finger-type characters of small size, which are worn on the fingers. They can be made of felt, socks or crocheted.
The most popular home theater dolls are glove and finger. In stores, you can buy ready-made sets of characters of various fairy tales. Such dolls can be controlled not only by parents, but also by children. Games with them develop fine motor skills of hands, imagination and memory.
We prepare the stage and scenery
An obligatory attribute of any theater is the stage. In a puppet theater, a screen appears in this capacity, behind which a puppeteer hides. The screen can be floor or table. You can buy a ready-made backstage with decorations and a curtain or make it yourself from improvised means.
An improvised screen will turn out if you throw a sheet or piece of cloth on two widely spaced chairs. Or decorate a large box of household appliances under the screen. Scenery can also be done independently. For example, hanging cardboard, sun, moon, stars, etc. from a stage on threads or ribbons. Be sure to involve children in the process.
We make a performance

Organize the first performances by adults, and invite children as spectators. Kids will be very happy to see the “revived” characters of familiar tales. Over time, attract them to participate in productions. Start with simple, easy-to-understand small roles, gradually complicating the task. With older kids, you can experiment with game productions.
