Ball games for the little ones

Each parent must ensure that the ball is present in the arsenal of their child’s toys. Uncomplicated at first glance, games develop coordination of movement, eye, dexterity, train motor skills and various muscle groups. Therefore, the acquaintance of the baby with the ball should happen as soon as possible.

Ball games for the little ones

A baby who does not yet know how to sit and crawl can be attached a bright balloon to a pen or leg. The kid will be watching with interest his movement. By 4-5 months, children already know how to grab and hold various objects in their hands. To develop tactile sensations, let the crumbs hold small balls of various textures.

Sitting or lying on his tummy, the pean will be happy to watch the ball roll down from an inclined surface or roll right and left in the hands of adults. Teach him to pat the ball with one or two handles. When swimming, demonstrate how the toy can stay on the water.

When the baby learns confidently crawl, put a big but light ball in front of him, and show how you can push him in front of you. The “runaway” ball will stimulate him to move.

Basic ball skills

As you grow older the game needs to be complicated and diversified. To begin, teach your baby to roll the ball in a certain direction. To do this, sit on the floor and take turns rolling the ball to each other. The more participants, the more interesting the game. You can build a tunnel of chairs through which the ball should roll.

After the child acquires this skill, organize a home “bowling”. Arrange a few empty plastic bottles or lightweight plastic objects in a row. Show your baby how to push the ball correctly to knock them down. You can arrange various toys or unbreakable items and tell the child which one to get into with the ball.

To develop accuracy, suggest the baby throw a ball in a basket, basin or large box. At first, the baby will simply put it in the right place - this is normal for an age of 1-1.5 years. After mastering the game, complicate the rules: increase the distance to the goal, put the basket on a low chair.

Scatter 10-15 balls of different diameters across the floor. Have your baby sort them into different boxes depending on size or color. Or organize a competition, who will quickly collect them in a box. To make the game more interesting, turn on fun music or erect an obstacle in the middle of the room that you will need to overcome each time.

Another important skill is the ability to catch the ball on the fly. Teach your child to toss him over his head, to hit the floor and wall. For complications between throws, suggest clapping, sitting down, or doing another kind of body movement.

When the child has mastered the basic elements of the ball game, he will come up with new options for the fun.Parents, in turn, should strongly encourage the baby's ventures and support his company. Do not force the baby to perform any exercises by force or scold if he does not succeed.
