10 safety rules that parents must tell their child

Before giving your child independence, you need to take care of his safety.

How to teach a child to behave properly with strangers. You can show these illustrations to your child and discuss all dangerous situations with him.

1. Hide first and last name

Do not write the name and surname of the child on his things, do not hang name tags on a children's backpack, do not sign a lunch box or a thermos. So someone else can recognize his name. If a stranger addresses a child by name, he immediately arouses trust in him and can continue to manipulate the baby.

Better write your phone on the tag - in case the thing is lost.

2. Run away from cars in the opposite direction

We teach children not to get in a car with strangers - that’s right. Let the child learn another rule: if a car brakes near him or she goes after him, and someone from the car wants to attract his attention, you need to quicklyrun away from the vehicle. This will help the child gain time and seek help.

3. Create a password for the family

If a stranger offers the child to go where his mother or father is waiting for him, let the child ask him to give his parents names and password. Come up with a childpassphrase for an emergency, if you suddenly ask someone you know to pick up the child from a kindergarten or school. The password must be unexpected so that it cannot be guessed: for example, “fluffy orange”.

4. Install tracking applications

Thanks to the GPS sensor, the application shows the coordinates of your child and the battery level of his phone.

5. Wear a watch with panic button

Alarm gadgets come in the form of a watch, key fob, bracelet or locket. Parents through a special mobile application can constantly monitor the location of the child, and if he clicks on the button, the signal is received by the parents or the security service.

6. Shouting "I do not know him!"

Tell the child that if a stranger grabs him, then you can and should be “bad”: biting, kicking, scratching and attracting attention at all costs, even if it’s very scary. You need to shout loudly: “I do not know him! He wants to take me away! ”

7. Stop talking and keep your distance

The child should know that strangers can chat not only with children, but also with adults, so it is important to quickly leave for a safe place within 5-7 seconds after the conversation starts. You should stand from a stranger at a distance of 2–2.5 meters; if he is approaching, you need to take a step back. Rehearse this situation with your child, show a distance of 2 meters and warn that during the conversation it needs to be maintained.

8. Do not enter the elevator with strangers

Teach your child to wait for the elevator with his back to the wall to see everyone who approaches him. And if this is a stranger or someone unfamiliar, under any pretext do not go into the elevator with him: pretend that he forgot something, or go to the mailbox. If someone invites you to enter, the best option is to politely answer that parents only allow one to ride in the elevator or with neighbors. If a stranger tries to drag him into an elevator or hold his mouth, you need to fight, scream and bite.

9. Do not say that parents are not at home

If the question "Who is it?" no one answers or no one is visible in the eye, you cannot open the door even quite a bit to see who it is. It cannot be said that parents are not at home, even if the stranger appears to be their friend or utility worker. If he is very persistent and is breaking into an apartment, he urgently needs to call his parents or neighbors.

10. Don't date internet friends

Warn the child that in the modern world criminals can find their victim via the Internet, and not always, “Misha from the next house” is really a 10-year-old neighbor. A harmless correspondence can be conducted by a dangerous person. Explain that you cannot tell strangers, even children, your phone number, address, last name, send photos and tell when and where you like to walk. And even more, you can’t agree to a walk with a stranger.

I’ll add from myself that it is necessary to explain to the child not to help strangers (even the elderly and children.) It is better if they consider the child ill-mannered than under the pretext of helping to find the dog somewhere!
